Mike Ciolino Founder, Managing Principal Mike's "work for your clients as if your life depends on it" philosophy has helped him build Verve Creative into one of the most respected creative firms in the Boston area. From 1985-1999, Mike worked for small Boston-area design studios on high profile accounts such as Reebok, Perry Ellis, KISS 108FM, The Boston Bruins and The Boston Celtics. Mike attributes his success to exceptional and demanding mentors including Boston designer Mike Hoffman and world-renowned playwright Israel Horovitz. "Israel was the first person to speak to me as an artist, and we collaborated on the marketing and poster design for many of his local and off-broadway plays in the mid-eighties", said Mike. It was his work with Legal Sea Foods however, which allowed for the birth of Verve Creative. "I got a call from a colleague who landed the position of Marketing Director at Legal. She had a full-page ad due for Boston Magazine the next morning - which we completed at 2 AM. That was over 7 years ago and we have worked for Legal every day since." A native of Gloucester, MA, Mike is a 1985 graduate of the University of Lowell with a BA in Psychology and Marketing, and has studied design at Northeastern University, The New England School of Art & Design and the Museum School. Believing in a community approach to business, Mike is the current President of the Newton Kiwanis Club.
